Made using strips of quartersawn cherry, this board is designed to provide long lasting beauty. Edges are gently rounded, and a generous hole in one end makes carrying or hanging easy. Narrow walnut strips and feet highlight the natural figure in the cherry and keep the board above counter top moisture. 18 1/4" long x 8 3/4" wide x 5/8" thick. Finished with mineral oil and 100% food safe. Signed, numbered and dated. $89.00 + S & H. Also available without feet for $10 less. Buy two or more and save 5%; three or more and save 10%.

Same as the cherry board above, but made using strips of quartersawn walnut and maple. Maple boards (not shown) also available.

My primary wood source is local trees that were diseased, storm damaged, or in the path of construction. Most of this type of wood is best suited for artisan pieces, but beautiful wood can be found locally and I search hard for it. I also purchase exotic wood from wood dealers when I need stock to meet the requirements for a specific piece.

Under no circumstances do I use tree species listed as vulnerable or threatened by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, and I only purchase wood that is certified “Sustainably Harvested” by the Forest Stewardship Council.
